Choose God’s best today and live a full, satisfying life!

To live a satisfying, full life we are to choose life! It is amazing how you can read a Bible verse so many times then, in a moment of time, God opens your eyes to receive a fresh revelation.  It happened to me this week as I read John 5:24. “I tell you for certain that everyone who hears my message and has faith in the one who sent me has eternal life and will never be condemned. They have already gone from death to life.” (NCV)

Wow! We have ALREADY gone from death to life.

Death means, “no longer alive”.  According to Romans chapter 6 we are to count on the fact that we are no longer alive – dead to sin, alive in Christ!  “Christ died, and we have been joined with him by dying too. So, we will also be joined with him by rising from the dead as he did.”

Jesus’ promise to each of us: “I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow.“ (John 10:10 TPT)  So why are so many of God’s children not enjoying a satisfying, full life when we have ALREADY passed from death to life?

Don’t let the enemy rob you of living a satisfying, full life!

This is what God revealed me! In the physical realm, most people want to live, but in the spiritual realm, many choose death by not appropriating by faith their position in Christ!  In doing so God’s children allow the enemy to rob, kill and destroy them!

When we are faced with sickness and disease, we can be robbed of having a rich satisfying life. What do we do? We apply our God given right by speaking life, Jesus’ life – His presence, over our bodies!

Dee Henderson writes in her book, The Unfinished Death: “Sickness and disease are simply the first visible stages that death has begun to destroy life. There was a payment necessary to remove what death has done to us and Jesus paid it in full!” (Isaiah 53:4&5, Revelation 1:18)

This is a big one! Aren’t we choosing death when we remain offended? Unforgiveness steals our joy and robs us from enjoying life to the fullest. Isn’t it true that we often accept lack instead of speaking provision and life over our finances? Also, when faced with challenging circumstances, isn’t it like us to accept them instead of choosing and speaking life, Jesus’ life – His presence, over our situation? Every time we criticize and judge others there will be implications.

So many of us, when we feel down, instead of speaking life over our minds, readily listen to, and partner with, our inner critic robbing us of inner peace and of living an abundant life. Every time we criticize and judge others there will be implications, for what we say has power. Proverbs 18:21 confirms this when it says, “the tongue can bring life or death”.  Jesus wants us to declare life by speaking well of ourselves and blessing others, including our children, for the words we speak will either build us up or tear us down. (Proverbs 10:14)

Choose today to speak life and enjoy God’s best!

Today I have given you the choice between life and death… Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” Deuteronomy 30:19. It’s my prayer for each of us that we’ll remain in God’s presence, in the centre of the river of LIFE, where our spiritual enemies – the mad dogs (who are hydrophobic) can’t attack us!
