Who is Jesus?

Jesus means ‘savior’.  Although the birth and life of Jesus is the most proven act of history, many people only know about him. They have not discovered how he can save them from their sins. Read how he came to save us and set us free.

1. The Son of God

The Bible shows us that God the Father declared Jesus to be his Son.

In Matthew 3:13-17 we read the story of how after John baptized Jesus a voice came from heaven saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Again God speaks in Matthew 17:1-14 when Jesus, Peter, James and John were together on the mountain. “Behold a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well please. Hear Him!”

In Matthew 16:13-20 Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am?” (Because Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, he is known as the Son of man, as well as the Son of God.) Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.”

2. The Savior of the World

An Angel appeared to Joseph and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you will call his name JESUS, for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-22)
